High Junk Peak, located on the eastern corner of Kowloon Pennisula, includes some of the best view in the area.

A 2018 planning study exercise on network enhancement calls for reworking the existing designated mountain biking trail, so to provide for a more inclusive entrance trail to the ridgeline.

Construction started on the reroute in 2020, where various long sections of staircase were bypass, effectively separating the hiking and biking trails, minimizing user conflict.

Dragon’s Back is an unique shared hiking-biking trails, high in tourism value. We get to work the trail enhancement process of this legendary Hong Kong trail in early 2020.

The works include a reroute for the trail across a previously hike-a-bike rock cliff section, rework various stream crossing to allow for better biking flow, and various root protection exercise along the 4km long trail.

Dirtraction is engaged as the principal trail specialist to design the 14km trail system and the first bike park at Mui Wo, Lantau Island.

While handling trail design, and providing the main project consultant, Jacobs China, with trail project oversight and management, Dirtraction crew work along and train the local civil engineering contractors during the build, and at times assist in the construction process for the various technical build.

Master planner and designer for one of the first purpose build backcountry recreational area in Vietnam. The project integrated various mountain biking trails, tropical back country hiking trail system and forest adventure experience in a 180 hectare semi-tropical valley in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

Upgrading works for the Singapore oldest designated mountain biking trail. The project required working around tight conservation planning corridors and within challenging terrain.

This 2012 – 2013 works rerouted the original trail away from key conservation area, while adding the much needed sustainability upgrade to most of this 8.3 km long trail loop.

Design and construction work for the massive bike park located just south of the newly launch world largest airport off Beijing. The park includes 10km of biking trails, jump lines, skills area, race specific infrastructure and 8km of road criterium circuit.

This 2011 project is an IMBA Trail Solutions collaboration with Dirtraction to facilitate trail workshops for Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) Hong Kong and Hong Kong Mountain Biking Association (HKMBA), enabling  at least 200 country parks officer with the concept of sustainable trails in Hong Kong.

These efforts enhanced the flow and sustainability of the mountain biking trail offerings within Tai Lam Country Park.

In 2007 DirTraction was called upon to design and build a mountainbike park on Pulau Ubin, an island just off the northeastern shore of Singapore.

Where previously Ubin was known more for its idyllic villages and biologically diverse wetlands, it has now transformed into a serious riding destination for mountainbike enthusiasts, both local and foreign.

The trail network highlights Dirtraction collaboration with IMBA Trail Solutions, the International Mountain Bicycling Association, in delivery of a sustainable trail system in the tropics.

TAMPINES BIKE PARK

DirTraction was engaged in adding a substantial 7km of trails to the existing Tampines mountainbike trail, that was at the time simply a flat 3km gravel fire road. The concept of Kent Ridge Mountain Biking Trail, giving new breathing space for trails to complement the ‘old-school’ trails that Singapore used to have, snowballs and encourage new trails network to be formed.

Tampines Bike Park has since played host to a number of local and international mountainbike races, most notably the Bike Asia 100 in 2008 and the Eneloop Mountainbike Carnival in 2009 and its series of long 12hrs races.

2010 promises more excitement as the Youth Olympics comes to Singapore, and Tampines MTB Park (split and renamed to Tampines Bike Park and Tampines Mountain Bike Trails by then) earns the distinction of being the inaugural Youth Olympics mountainbike and BMX racing venue.

KENT RIDGE PARK

DirTraction was able to work with National Parks Singapore and Singapore Amateur Cycling Association (SACA), on their initial trail program at Kent Ridge Park, located in the Southern Ridges of Singapore. The 3 km loop is of technical cross country singletrack nature. A mini downhill run is added into the network later on.
